De Trading Post was originally started by Eduardo “ED” Sidranski in December of 2006. The name “De Trading Post was derived from a mis-communicated conversation between “ED” and his accountant. As he was creating his dream trading post, “ED” originally wanted to name the store “The Trading Post.” Many folks that have met “ED” know that his strong accent is sometimes hard to understand. Ironically, the store name was registered as “De Trading Post.” Nobody understood that he said “THE” not “DE.” As the legal name was being discussed, “ED” realized that the mistake was actually a good name. WHY? Well, De Trading Post is actually “ED” backwards! And this is the story of De Trading Post!
